What DOESN'T scare me, is the tracking. What scares me is that picture of the three, it looks like Jobs is staring into my soul....

if you're building a PC, we'd love to know which parts you're going with, over clocking, etc. if you get a MBP, we want to know what kind of PPD your getting
I'll keep you updated. Currently I'm working on getting my 10 WU's in under my passkey (at 7 right now) and after that I'll shift the i7 iMac over to -bigadv to take advantage of the pts bonuses and then we'll see what it can really do. Hopefully some big PPD. I'm folding under the name 206pilot.

According to data on your first chart I'd say that corporate income tax revenues need to increase dramatically. Corporate income taxes only represent 9%(191 billion) of revenue yet individual income tax represents 41% (899 billion). Combine that with all the bailouts the government handed out to the banks and some corporations and I'm guessing the net rate might be close to 0%.
I'm not saying individual taxpayers won't have to sacrifice in order to solve the problem, but I'm not sure why there are those that argue that no matter how many tax breaks corporations get or even government bailouts---that's its always the individual who has to pay.
It's a policy based on greed straight from the richest people and companies in this country.

what da heck happened to .Mac exclusive widgets?
these are things I want for .Mac (and I have been a user for 3 years).
1. increase of storage to 2gb.
2. price drop to somewhere close to $50.
3. integration of Leopard Mail features (such as Notes and stuff)
4. faster iDisk speed.
5. integration of iCal on .mac
maybe not all of them but at least some.

Exactly.
Jobs is a bloody populist and a charlatan. A genius, undoubtedly. An aesthete (in visuals, certainly not in music!), but a cheat nevertheless… The most skillful cheat in existence.

Then writing it up and trying to make it intelligible when this is a very high-tech topic took a few days. And here we are less than a week later."
Translation: We are Apple. We know you're stupid.
Having seen some of the incredibly misguided comments here and elsewhere about this issue, I'm inclined to agree with Apple on this one. You would think frequenters of forums like these would grasp the concept of a 'cache', but I can assure you, many don't

I saw that article about the M5 concept this morning. The new 5er looks much better than the one just replaced, but I'm still very partial to the E39 5 series. I had a 2003 530i and to this day regret getting rid of it.

You likely broke one of the screen hinges. This is common with the emates.
Here's a dissasembly guide if you ever feel ambitious enough to replace the part.

Maybe that particular audio file is broken. You should choose Help->Music Store Customer Service and let them know about the problem. Then let us all know what they say and how it turns out.

Negative votes on this? Seriously? So what if they're breaking the jailbreak, they're allowed to do so.
And we're allowed to vote negative if we don't like this. Generally speaking in terms of iOS "security fixes" also means "closing holes used for jailbreak exploits". I'm all for closing holes like the ones that allowed the jailbreakme.com jailbreaks via Safari, but most of the holes used by JBers require the user to do some very specific things (like putting the phone into DFU mode). These aren't a threat to the average user.
I have a 10gig weekly download limit at school and having to download a 600mb update every week for my iPod is annoying.
No one is making you update.
