I had similar problem with United last year. I was flying thruogh Malaysian airlines and United charged me for extra 20 LBs. But it was checked in till India.
Delta is more helpful that way, one of my friends family had separate tickets on Delta and Malaysian, but the delta checkin guy checked in for both flights upto India, and even allowed the 70lbs on the delta part of the flight.

I think, we should arrange meeting with DOS and USCIS and ask them about all possible solution of this problem.
We should find DOS and USCIS main offices first and then ask IV member who live in those States can contact them and arrange meeting and bring this issues on table with DOS and USCIS Official.
There is nothing to lose by doing this but lot ot gain if we came with some solution. May be there are some ways or something under their control where they can allow us to file for EAD and AP if I-140 approved.
If this doesn`t happend then we have nothing to lose.
what do you guys think about it ??

I totally agree. I did that 1 month back.
Had kept new quota in octo. as deadline. No promising change there.. and I switched job to new employer.. better position, better compensation and better life.
The new employer will start GC PERM labor after 6 months. I have 140 approved from old employer. So I believe I can transfer PD whenever new employer files 140.
Cannot just wait for years waiting for PD to become current and ruin career.

Damn straight, I am one of the free riders.. But I contribute back by doing the work... I have emailed and called media personnel, office bearers etc.. why should I pay on top of that?? When I make the calls, write the emails, I dont think I will be singled out and the only person to benefit out of it...

On the same note, Kumarc123, it is hard to see them working with 2001 EB3-India category for more than 5 years. 245(i) or not...still 5 years...how about that.
Anyway, my point is let us leave predictions. USCIS gave their predictions way back in their Jan 2010 bulletin. Maybe we all should stick with what dates they gave us than we trying to predict.

I had checked the status earlier this morning (as every other day) and as every other day there was no LUD. When I got home this evening saw the following email (got one for my wife's application too)

I changed 5 employers over the past 6 years, after I filed my GC. I never did AC21 with out them asking for it and I responded to only one RFE with whatever the document they requested and I mentioned that I used AC21 to change the job.
Seems like you file G-28 by yourself. We are also looking into doing that, but have not been able to get anyhelp. Can you please guide us about filling the G-28. We wil really appreciate that. Is there any particular format we need to follow?

Guys, you have to move to Florida. When my wife and son were on H4 they were paying in-state tuition.

GC process is 3 step process and the lawyer is representing you (485 stage) as well as the employer (labor and 140 stage)........So, if you leave the employer, most lawyers will refuse to continue to represent you unless they authorized in written by the employer....it is a conflict of interest for them.......hence, I think I will go to some other lawyer for AC 21......and thats why the money.....
It is bit shocking to know that one will have to pay for just AC21 notification. I mean, if you already have lawyer associated with your GC file, which I believe, most of us should have either appointed by our employer OR hired by ourselves (Many companies give a choice to hire "your own" lawyer). I understand that since one change the employment, the general criteria is to assume that the lawyer (If paticularly appointed by past employer) is now no more attached to the case. But in truth it is not. Fulfilling AC21 notification is part of the whole end to end package since case remains same unless you notify USCIS to change your attorney. In my case I was given a choice to hire "My Own lawyer" and once I started to work on EAD, virtually now he is my lawyer not "my employer's lawyer" and hence he will be sending AC21 related paperwork to USCIS though he told me that he would not do it right now as he is busy with H1 filing load. OHP alleges that one of the paramedics on the video assaulted the trooper, but the assault was not caught on tape.
"We're like trying to tell the guy, 'Dude, my mom is in the back,' and my stepdad was like, 'My wife is in the back. Can we do this at the hospital?'" said Kenyada Davis.
Kenyada Davis' mother was the woman in the back of the ambulance being treated for heat exhaustion.
He was able to shoot the altercation with his cell phone's camera.
Davis said it all started because the ambulance failed to yield to OHP troopers, who were en route to a call along highway 62 in Paden.
Davis said the driver of the ambulance was trying to avoid hitting a car that slowed down and wasn't aware of troopers nearby until it was too late.
"He slowed down, and as the car was getting over, that's when he passed us," Davis said. "I didn't hear him."
But after OHP troopers finished their official business, they pulled the Creek Nation ambulance over. One of the troopers chided Paul for failing to yield.

And, the work of every president in the modern history has been diagonally opposite to the expectation. Example, conservatives voted for Bush to ban abortion, stop illegal immigration, balance budget etc. On all these issues, he was a major upset to his supporters. Based on what I know (and don't know), I think that the expectations of most people from Obama administration are likely to dash against the rock. Specifically, people on immigration forums like this one, who feels being in the proximity of a miracle will soon realize the dangerously flawed situation. The apathy of this community will consume it. Live and learn....

Wow those guys/gals are fed with so many lies - numbers usa and programmers guild is projecting this bill as if creation of "new" half a million visas and propagating that so many new "foreigners" will take up jobs. Do they understand the word "recapture" and also these are unused 'greencard' recapture - many of beneficiaries are in us for way too long and they are not going to change the job market a bit.
Does IV already have a propaganda group of their own to thwart such baseless silly accusations?
If not, this group ought to be formed; made up of people who are patient, have very good communication skills (both verbal and written) and be well aware of the current immigration process in the US.
I am afraid that the clueless media might see these lies on Dice (which is one the top job search sites), and assume that what is posted there is accurate. If they run with it as a story without doing proper investigation, it will get unnecessary negative publicity. It needs a proper counter argument, supported by the facts. eg: the legislation that limits the current EB level at 140K per year; and the legislation that does not allow spillover of the unused visas from one year to the next.
There are a lot of ignorant people around. Some knowledge transfer to them will help us all. (There will be some people who are not receptive to knowledge. No one can help them.)
