Applications already properly filed will be accepted, means all applications from the 2nd July to 16th July will be accepted if properly filed (Means: If they have the proper documents and are otherwise eligible, meaning filing fees and certified labor)

Exactly, I posted the same on Greg's blog as a response. How ever, you should be calling USCIS if you do not receive a Receipt number in 30 days or if your checks are not cashed. There are not many AOS applications filed after first week of July. 3 to 4 weeks time frame is common turn around time. Dont freak out until then.

There could be two reasons for this huge forward movement for EB2.
1) They want to minimize wastage by making more visas available for CP.
2) There was some heartburn among EB2 China applicants when their PD was set to April 2004. Since there are a lot more EB2 India applicants with PD's earlier than that, they felt that most of the EB2-ROW spillover would go to India. Moving the dates forward to 2006 would ensure that EB2 China gets a decent share of the spillover.
Point taken, However when EB2 India is moved to June 1 2006, there will be even more EB2 India with PD earlier than it was previously. So whichever date you set as the cut off, EB2 India will have more people with PDs earlier than that. So I guess I am not understanding how that helps Chinese applicants. Unless the USCIS decides which of the petitions they will process with current priority dates and gives preference to Chinese cases. Per my understanding, they are supposed to use RD in such a situation. However who knows what they will do.

Guys, IV is an immigration related forum, if your religious sentiments are hurt by a picture on beer bottle, please take it to the pertinent forum. ( why create a ruckus here ?)
I am sure that VHP, RSS or whatever orgs are having their forums to hear these kind of greivances.

What i really wonder is you joined on 2nd of july and questioning IV core efforts....if you really have guts why dont you post with your original login id. and can you please tell me how much you contributed so far for this cause before demanding anything
I ask the doctor to treat me first but also make sure that my brother gets treatment too.It's just that for the past 15 days not one post reg people stuck in BEC's and one guy who started the thread of unfairness got bashed.Even then no announcement nothing from the core team.That's what bugs me.
I'm not trying to create a division.In fact I sympathise with everybody effected by VB ,all the money,effort,time that you have put in.I know I'll be next in line waiting to get in the roller coaster.I also know that core team is not answerable to anybody.

I have the same frustration ... rules that are so vague and that USCIS doesn't even follow ... and I got all worked up about it when the predictions for the October bulletin came.
But then I told myself I have no control over this and the only thing it does it's ruining my days which makes it a lose - lose situation for me.
And before someone tells me that I have the power to change things by joining IV efforts, I'll tell you that I already did that.

now a days predictions have become more like weather forecasting saying that past few years we had rains around this time hence forth it may rain. :p
2010, all those who filed 485 by 2006 will be cleared up and will be given GC, 2010 end there will be another wave of 485 filers who will continue as cash cows for next 5 years for EAD and AP, 2007 july filers will be cleared up by 2012. Do not ask the source of information it is more of stock market and weather forecast were in stocks falls and gains every 5th year and 6th of June is the first day of monsoon in mumbai....:D

xactly. so the immi grps impacted are H1 and recent/new I-140 filers.
In the past pure H1B holder (no intension to adjust or working for firms that dont sponser GC) were not actively participating in IV's activities as they were never impacted and had the option to stay away.
This new rule-making definitely impact them..and should be an opportunity to join IV in more active way.

Many people do not know about this issue yet. My senators do not want to do much on this issue because it is sensitive to bogus national security. My corporate lawyers (and executives) do not want to draw attention to this matter because retrogression is less trickier than this one politically. Guys we need to speak out otherwise nobody will even know about this issue.
How big the impact is? Of the tens of friends, neighbors, coworkers I know of who filed I-485 in 2003, only one got approved. The majority is waiting name check clearance for more 2.5 years!

There are allegations of improprieties in the usage of visa numbers for cases that have not yet been approved, contrary to regulation. This allegedly artificially increased the usage of the numbers, allowing the USCIS to use them at a rate that is many times its normal monthly usage. The USCIS claims to have approved an unprecedented number of cases and requested all the remaining (approximately 60,000) visa numbers for the fiscal year within a span of just over two weeks. The net result of this, in addition to the damage already caused, will be litigation against the USCIS. This is costly and resource intensive. We are asking you to step in, and right this wrong. In so doing, you would take a significant step toward restoring the integrity of the system that is in place. People must be able to rely upon the system. In this case, they made decisions, and expended significant time and money, based upon the July Visa Bulletin. They did so because Visa Bulletins have always been reliable and have worked in a systematic, unwavering manner, in terms of governing which cases can be filed in a particular month. This must be restored.

I believe that you will do the right thing for American employers and hard working immigrants who play by the rules not to lose faith in the integrity of our legal system and in our government. When I was working in Kuwait, me and every one carry Civil ID, all the time in the wallet. If some one don't have, the police will take him to the station and allow to call his sponser to bring the documents. If the sponser is out of station, any friend can bring the documents. Color of civil ID is diffrent for Kuwaiti's and others. So police didn't question any Kuwaitis. Other nationals also into two catagories, one for the general employees, and the other is domestic visa holders. The domestic visa holders ID is diffrent color, if the police caught them any time other than friday, they will go to jail and deported. They have right to be on the road only on friday. Other days of the week, it is banned. Only allow to live in the sponsers house. I heard, in saudi, muslims have green color ID,s to distiguish between other religious members.
Any way USA is not discriminate between religion, or nationalities. If it is law, we need to obey. Green card can carry with credit card, driver license. I think checking is only on boders. They may checking any one jumping from Mexico or Canada. It is for security purpose. Not to harass.
