There are several things that can save you a bit!
You can do balance transfer on your credit cards in US every year for the amount you usually save in a year.
So, say you save 25k in a year, take that much amount in balance transfer on a credit card here for one-time 4% balance transfer fee, transfer it to india and pay it in a year after you saved that much.
You can also take loan on your existing car for close to 5%.
I took HDFC home loan in india, and knocked out close to 25k every year from it by doing the above.

Yes, it won't be a rejection or a denial either...just a simple RFE. Since both the names on the marriage certificate are different from the applicant (you) and the beneficiary (your wife), USCIS should be able to deduce that it's a mistake.

So, it depends on your luck. The general assumption is that, people look to better their salaries, roles when the economy is doing good. So it is not necessarily going to help you a lot even in a good economy. This topic can be argued both ways.

we had a similar issue,
what happens is that when you efile with IRS, They dont have data that your wife had SSN last year, and they have just the ITIN number. thats the reason efile gets rejected. you need to manually file this year and next year it should be OK to efile.
I am not sure which pacakge you are using to Efile, I had similar problem with HR blocks tax cut software.

Thanks for the response. I have the receipt notice & approval notice for my 485 and 140 respectively. I am planning on interlinking our applications on my own, without the use of an attorney. I did however speak to a previous attorney of mine, and his recommendation was to wait until my spouse received his 485 receipt notice, and then send a letter to USCIS with a copy of both our receipt notices & marriage certificate asking them to merge both applications, with him being the primary applicant, and me being the derivative applicant.
However, since my spouse is concurrently filing his 140 & 485, I wasn't sure if his 140 needs to be approved before we interlink the applications. The attorney said that as long as he had his 485 receipt notice, the applications could be interlinked, but I wanted to be sure how his I-140 would tie into all of this. Any thoughts?

I was under the impression that there would be some talks about the discussed bills on floor this week.I see no signs of any debate or any discussion.I have some read some posts saying that nothing would happen this year. This really confuses me as I had & I think many of us had hopes that coming weeks would decide something.
I would appreciate if someone could give everyone very clear picture of what going on ?

If you think out-off-box.... guess what? If US-govt wants to give employment-based-green card based on priority date. Then there won�t be any new immigration law in place without clearing Backlog center cases/queue and I140.
So what... As per the labor department web site, the DOL needs another 17/18 months to clear all pending labors.
I guess any new bill to become law will take another 19 to 24 months. Keep your spirit going to support the best immigration-bill.
My 2 cents.

TIme to make this site a paid site with tightly controlled information access and forum features available only to the members.
What is the purpose of increasing the membership is a majority are non contributing members. Doesnt money buys us much more then the membership numbers? Making this site a paid site will drive away most members but the remaining will provide a continuous revenue stream.

I got RFE for my spouse in August 2008 for I-485 regrading the marriage certificate and still the status hasn't got updated, called several times USCIS but no luck.

I have been working for my current employer from last 4 years.I have good relations with my employer.I have 140 approved and my 485 is pending for more than 180 days.Now I want to join any new employer using my EAD.But I don't want to invoke AC 21.If my dates are current again and if i get any RFE I will submit the offer letter from my old employer.
My case is I'm using EAD after 140 is approved and 485 is pending more than 180 days and joining a new employer.As GC is future employment I can always say that I will join my old employer when ever i get a GC.This way I can avoid AC 21. Also If my employer doesn't give me the offer letter I can still manage to get it from any Consulting firm with same job title and same salary.
Can any one suggest me on this?

I have seen people talking about getting approvals with misdemeanors, but each case may be different. Murthy.com forums has a special section for people dealing with misdemeanor issues and have gone through the process, may be you will get some more tips about preparing for the interview there. Guys ... please help. I am trying to get PCC from my local police station and they are giving me hell time here... and I am running out of time. The local police station guys are saying that they will only give a letter in white paper (No letter head) and they are insisting that it will not be used. What shall I do and I have to submit my documents by tuesday by latest.....

vxg...I disagree with your statement that "stamp...can be forged'. Anything can be forged (e.g. passport, money). If the I-551 is legit what do you have to be afraid of?
wandmaker is correct. Take infopass, tell them you may have to travel soon and get the stamp. I've done it...nothing wrong with that. By the way, since your I-485 is approved, your AP is no longer valid and you should not use it.

If you want to know the exact job description then labor is the only document which has the complete description. Usually the company will ask to fill some documentation for filing labor and labor is filed based on the available job and your skill set as well (that's what I have seen).
