Well, that's the job of the media. Our job is to get GC. Although the issues are true, I would still prefer having absolutely correct articles, so no anti-immigrant could point his/her finger saying "look, immigrants are spreading lies". Just like we bashed them when they were claiming that we pay less taxes. It was a good point to discredit them.
Media always narrates and presents it in a form where the commoner can understand, it needs spice.
Let us hope that we get more media attention and people start listen to us.

I have prior bitter experience in taking employer to court - and my take is, it is not worth it. Here is my story:
At one point, my employer owed me over 20k+ in backwages and unpaid overtime. I threatened him to going to court and he paid about 5k.
I then submitted a formal complaint to virginia department of labor, who sent it to me back stating 'since a formal employment agreement is *in place*, they are will not interfere' and directed me to go to the courts. Two months passed.
I then filed a case against my employer in the small claims court in California, where my employer resides. Small claims courts can adjudicate upto 5k. They took my case and asked me to be physically present in the court. Visiting CA, salary loss, hotel etc, would add upto 1k. Also, if the employer does not show up, I need to file another case in the normal court for attaching his property. Long shot and therefore withdrew the case.
I then contacted an attorney; surprisingly most of the attorneys did not want to take up my case( unless I have a company). Finally, one guy offered to take up the case, but insisted on paying him 4k upfront as retention fees and $200/hr rate. With no certainity of making my employer pay, I did not pursue.
There was a happy ending though.I bluffed to my employer that my team is hiring big time and I can get him some business, but before doing so, he should pay me all the past dues. I conducted some mock interviews through my friends to make the drama look real. Presto, he paid me every penny.
The whole cycle took over a year and then I resigned, going back to square on green card; but atleast had the money.

Eb3I may nudge forward a little bit. Sadly that won't be very helpful to most folks on this board. Visa recapture is the only thing that can help near term. In the interim, administrative fixes, rule clarifications, USCIS efficiencies in application processings, Data transparency, though not glamorous victories as say visa recapture. Nonetheless make the path somewhat more comfortable and predictable.
EB3ROW may move also.
The movement of EB2I will be quite revealing for me. If there is quarterly spillover(which under current rules should be the case) then we might see some forward movement or at the very minimum the dates should stay put. However if there is no quarterly spillover, then with the approvals in EB2 recently, they will be hard pressed not to move dates backward somewhat.

It is so easy
Take a good picture in good lighting with regular digital camera
Crop the picture to square size as needed
Open it in photoshop -- make picture package - select 2x2 of 20 pics -- and save it.
Again crop it with the ratio or 4x6 selecting six pictures.
Now u have a picture which is 4x6 in size with total of six 2x2 pp size pics in it.
go to walmart - at kiosk print it... for 24 cents per copy
6 cents per picture
and again pics are of your liking ..
in between you can edit to remove shadows easily
enjoy

Starting July 16th, 2007, labor certification has a 60 day validity period. Meaning, a I-140 petition needs to be filed within 60 days from labor approval date....If immigrant visa numbers are unavailable (dates retrogressed), you wont be able to file your I-140/I-485 concurrently but you can file your I-140 petition irrespective of your priority date as long as you have a labor approved. You dont have to apply for your labor again and again....Its just that, once you get your I-140 approved, you will have to wait for dates to become current to file I-485...

Found this news clipping on an Indian newspaper Today. Below is the Link to the news Article and what it says.It's naive to conclude its gonna happen overnight but the issue of getting back our Social security is catching up!!
New Delhi, Dec. 4: India and the United States will discuss the issue of a totalisation agreement next week to allow Indians working in America to avail of social security benefits that they pay while working in the United States. Visiting US secretary, US under-secretary for international trade, Franklin L. Lavin said, United States and India are trying to reach a closure on the matter and the United States will be taking up the matter next week.
Speaking at a function, held in the capital on Monday by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mr Lavin, who is heading the largest-ever US delegation to India of 250 companies, also revealed that the United States has approved the opening of a consulate in Hyderabad to encourage business with the State.
Noting that the US was looking at various ways to make business with India easier, Mr Lavin said, the idea was to have an independent economic relation. �We have consistently said that companies have to be serious about doing business with India on a standalone basis. It is not a question of whether to invest in India or Brazil or China, but a necessity. We want to make it easier to do business with India,� Mr Lavin said.
On the Doha round of talks of the World Trade Organisation, Mr Lavin said, �We can expect an outcome if Brussels, New Delhi and we, each show our willingness to take things forward.� He also said that several initiatives have resulted in greater Indo-US business cooperation.
These include the Open Skies Agreement in civil aviation, as a result of which passenger traffic has increased 60 per cent in the last one year, reduction of tariffs on industrial goods, a raise in investment caps in retail by India and efforts to liberalise entry of foreign education institutes. Mr Lavin, however, pointed out that there are a number of challenges facing India-US business ties.
