IV is not a help group. If some one want to join a help group then go join a "Depressed people Organization". This is a make happen group, where we all fight for what is right. But unfortunately, we are just as strong as number of people actively supporting.
He did everything right and followed the process but now for a VERY stupid reason, he has to wait for 6+ years now. So, the simple question I ask now is what justice it is by having such a complicated Green Card process full of so much uncertainity and unfairness.
Thus, this guy of course should do all what you stated but must do much more, which is stand up for himself.

I did not understand 'are not outside of processing time'. Can you please explain in detail.

NSC is curretly processing EB I-485 cases filed before July 30, 2007. TSC - cases filed before April 10, 2007. So according to the USCIS policy: "If at any point your case should become more than 30 days outside our normal processing time, and you haven't received a written decision or update from us within the last 60 days, you can help us by calling customer service and letting us know. We will research your case, see what needs to be done to get it processed, and get back to you with an explanation."
I.e. NSC cases filed before July 1st are considered outside of processing time. The USCIS explains it in the latest name check FAQ posted today.

This is what you can do - Both in Mumbai and in Delhi, you have USCIS approved doctors who help people going through CP. In other words those who choose to go through emp based CP or family based Green Card which US embassy issues, go through Indian hospitals in Mumbai and Delhi. I think Gangaram in Mumbai has this facility. Ask your wife to get it done from there. Do not wait till the last moment, as someone pointed out, a slight delay in flight could............

Listen dude, these companies doesn�t have financials like Microsoft so no point talking microsoft. I have a friend who runs a very small consulting company. Another friend of mine wanted an H1 for his younger brother He made 100 promises to this guy , like please bring him here he�ll work for you for atleast 1 year blah blah. I requested this friend of mine and he sponsored my other friend�s brother�s H1B.. Now this guy sponsored his H1B spend $3000 on fees etc. $1000 for air ticket etc. This brother guy came in and disappeared in 2 months for more money. He was on project!! he jumped in the middle for more money. Now you tell me what should these people do. It�s all same people just in different roles. So I would say there is a stiff competition between consultant and these companies about who screw who.

I owned property in india on lease and was tranfering $$ to the banks directly. Only personal trf was $6000 to my in-laws and I told him I borrowed this before coming to US owed this money

I am sorry to hear that USCIS has messed up your FP appointment.
When (what date) did you get a notice from NSC saying that your I-485 is now transferred into NSC and now pending from processing?
I never received a transfer notice from NSC, however my wife received a transfer notice long back (some time in Sep')

This does raise some valid questions... For instance, what about children from, say, a previous marriage? What about children when the couples are not married? Do the children qualify under FB visa?
I realize this has nothing to do with EB immigration, and that such cases are relatively uncommon. But still, if someone with expertise and experience can comment, it would add to the knowledge base, and who knows, someone might find it extremely useful.

Two H-1B's are possible if you can do two jobs. Most of the ppl file a concurrent H-1B for a part time job so you have one H-1B for full time job and the other for a part time job. The US CIS will approve a concurent H-1B for part time job for as little as 15 hours a week. Now if you want to file the second H-1B too for a full time job and have the physical ability to work for 80 hours a weeks then US CIS won't have any problems with that.

I recently moved to Houston TX for a new job on EAD and got a vertical driving license which is valid till 2015 but there is a line printed on it "Temporary visitor status expires july 2010" which is expirary date of my EAD card...
I think I will have to go to DMV again after getting new EAD card in 2010 to revalidate the new date
