My issue happened in 2005. I cannot recall the exact phrase but I determined that they lost the attached check. If you look at my old posts, you will find how my issue was resolved. The re-submission letter must be marked with "mail-room - do not open" and should be sent to service center director directly.

Oh, yes! I knew that! I have even tried this, but my tripod is such a hunk of junk that it wiggles and I can't get the photos to merge without hurting my eyes because every photo is a little off. Terrible blur!
Ok, the HDR explains the very wild lighting on the buildings with the very forboding cloud cover. Thanks for clearing up my confusion, and now the photo makes a lot more sense to me. I was wondering about the light source in this, I figured that some stray ray of light had sneaked through to warm up the bricks.

H1's from A and B are not related and having multiple H1's is valid.
However in your case, once the H1 from company A starts your OPT / EAD status will no longer be valid. For filing a H1 with company B now, you are fine with OPT status and you may get an approval for start date B with company B based on today's status of OPT.
I am under the impression that company B is not aware of H1 filing with company A.
So if H1 from company A is already approved and ready to start date A in Jan , then that is the day your OPT will end. If H1 from B is approved before start date A , but start date B is beyond A's start date then you will have to be with company A during that period ( i.e gap between start date A & start date B).
Or else down the line if you are asked to prove status between start date A & B, for that time you need something to show.

If this is the case your OPT should be intact, just make sure your status does not change on start date A with Sevis.
If A is not willing to cancel or you need to ask them to cancel then ....

c) Ask B to advance start date to match with A so it takes control of your OPT before A ends it.
I can understand your situation, when someone is coming out of school and has multiple options. Where a single one of them is not a cut above the rest, for a clean decision, or a good one comes later. The best is to stay with opt until you are comfortable and like the work, but however due to time pressure, quota exhaustion and persuasion from the companies people end up applying for H1 too soon locking themselves into a corner.

Friends,
I'm in a position where I have to file for I-140 again. In short, my company was purchased and I had to refile I-140 under the new company's name. Since the new company does not pay for Premium processing, I'll have to shell out the Premium processing fee from my pocket.
I need your honest opinion as to whether I must file with premium or regular? My PD: is June 2007.

This is a very good point ,if illegal under guest worker program can pursue a path to a citizenship after 6yrs provided that they can show they have paid taxes, learn English and pass background check...Why can't we ask the same for us, we have entered US legally without breaking any law, are paying taxes and are highly educated let aside learn English. And the senators have agreed about getting in line or behind the line (First in first out) approach for getting Citizenship, we are just asking for GC ;) ?

The 800K pending 485s include people who have filed multiple 485s.

1) Spouses filing thier own as well as dependant.
2) More then one primary filing.
So i guess there are about 100K duplicate and invalid applications.
In a way our community contributes to our own downfall...

I think that is not really true - You cannot file more than one I485 as in other stages of immigration process (you can file multiple H1B’s; multiple I140’s etc). Because I485 is for adjustment of status to an individual and is unique for each individual. Yes there will be applications for primary and dependent but each of them take a visa number anyway and they have to be counted.
In the I485 – adjustment of status - an applicant can change the preference category (EB2 vs EB3) by interfiling new I140 approval i.e. by suppling the new I140 approval papers which will update an existing I485 but cannot file a new I485. This is true for EB category cases. MY PD is july 2004 (I485 filed on 2 July 2007 with ND date 8/9/2007) and I did not get any approvals so I opened a SR on 09/03/09.
Yesterday I received a "DISTURBING" response to the SR saying that my dates are not current because I am in EB3. I am EB2 and had only I140 approved way back in Nov 2006. So I created another SR (with the help of a nice CSR by calling USCIS yesterday 09/09/09) today morning I went for an infopass appointment in DallaS, TX to check why the USCIS is saying my case is in EB3 and not EB2. Luckily at the Infopass I was assigned to a Desi IO to help me with my issue. He spent lot of time looking researching my case and told me that my case is EB2 and the dates are current. During my Infopass appointment the IO noticed that someone audited my case few seconds before and showed me the screen where it showed that my case was PreAdjudicated. He said it looks like soneone is working on the case and I should hear from USCIS quickly. I am sure that the Second SR triggered some one to look at the case. And might be they corrected the EB category.
Now I am eagerly awaiting my approval (primary + 2 Dependents).
My suggesstion to people who are waiting (With PD's before Feb 2005 ) are to Open SR , make Infopass appointments to check on the status. Its very important to know if there are any problems in your case similar to mine.
If anyone needs any help with Opening SR or creating Infopass PM me and I will be glad to help.

Just on the lighter note I wonder if even USCIS ignores that mistake and give you and your co-worker's wife a GC.
And if your co-worker's wife is from a county which is not retrogressed then you can get GC early based on alternate chargebility. Mistake can become boon many times. Just kidding.
