I got all the receipts and FP notice from VSC on 10/15. Everything was filed on 7/31 and sent to TSC. FP date was 10/30. Got EAD last week and they want ID again for AP. 485 has been trasnferred to TSC now.

Eb3Retro, Did you sign G-28 initially for your (previous employer's) attorney to represent? if so how did you change the representation?
i have not changed attorney so far, just wanted to retain the same guy until i extend my EAD this time, (which is pending and awaiting results anytime soon) , once this is done, i am going to file G28 and self file AP myself. My attorney charges exorbitant fees for doing this, just for the safety sake, just for ead extn i used him...few more days and i will say thanks for all his services..

take a photo of yourself with a digital camera....go to epassportphoto.com upload the photo and crop it...save the output jpeg and upload to walgreens. Print from there

I'm Harish. I've finished my masters in usa and working on H1-B. I applied for GC this year. Right now at 1-140 filing stage. I think I-140 should be approved in a few months. After that how long should I wait to apply for I-485?
I want to change my employer. I believe you can do that 180 days after u file for I-485. So can any1 give me an approx time when I should be able to file I-485.
With all this retrogression its really confusing and frustating to understand...

Dear All:
Need your advice. Filed I-485 on July 5th. I-140 is approved. Working with the employer for 6 yrs. Now that I filed for final stage, my employer wants me to sign a contract voluntarily that I should stay with them for 24 months. What are my legal options in state of CA? He wants to get 20K if I leave earlier than contract term. I signed it since he threatened me to revoke I-140. Can I backout after portability law kicks in.

Check with a good attorney like Sheela Murthy or Rajiv Khanna after 6 months... Until then you really don't have any choice... I am surprised to see that you worked for this employer for last 6 years and this is the state of your relationship... Did he paid for all the legal fees or was it paid by you??

A potential employer has offered me to substitute 2001 EB3 labor. Would DOL accept unapproved labor substitution ? what is the probability of rejection (assuming there is very good match).

My(dependant) EAD is still pending while primary's EAD was approved on 8/19 by TSC.
Anybody out there with Self and Spouse EAD Card approved from NSC, but Self actual physical EAD card arrived but Spouse physical EAD card did not arrive at the usual time say 5 days after approval.
Usually I have seen both arrive at the same time. Please comment. Thanks.

I think the tests are all written there in the form available online. You could download it and get whatever you could from your PCP before you go to the civil surgeon. This would make your life easier.

her I-485 was filed befoer Oct 1st and she plans to use EAD. She need not have worked a single day or earned a single paycheck. She can enter using AP or H4.

I am reading "CIR is dead" from logiclife. I have not read this anywhere? Is this officially declared? If not, pls edit this as I do not want IV member to get caught on this news break.
Everyone who is frustrated: please have some restraint.
Shouting out, and making fun of lawmakers does not behoove us if we are working with their offices.
Imaigine this: We go into a lawmaker's office (which we do quite often even now, even tho CIR is dead) and explain who we are, our situation, retrogression, etc. etc. and then the staff comes to us and says: By the way, your website has said "This" about my boss, congressman XYZ.
What do you think we are going to say to them? That we practice first amendment rights on our forums where we openly trash you, and the next morning, we walk into your office and ask for provisions and legislations to help us????
First amendment is great to have when you need to rebel, protest and outright oppose someone. Not when you are looking to work with someone and advocate. There is a huge difference between advocacy and protest.
So legal, others, while it provides a great deal of relief to lash out at congressmen, or media, (I've done my share of mistakes in this regard, so I know) try to do it in a way that it doesnt make us look like fools when we go to their office asking for favors/provisions.

I did check the USCIS website for the July 17, 2007 (reinstating the July Visa Bulletin) and July 23, 2007 (about I-485 fees) notices that are specified on murthy.com link you provided, but did not find them. they probably have assigned a visa number to your case during the month of august/sept when your priority date was current and might have shelved it to open at a future time (which happens to be just about now!)

As a EB2-India hopeful I was Current in Aug/Sept 2008, and had a 99.9% of hope of getting approval. However, they did nothing then though many with a lot lower (later) PD's and RD's were approved.
Now suddenly, I got several sets of emails with "Card production ordered", "Approval notice sent" and "Wecome as a New permanent resident" messages (some more than one with same message).
So, may be USCIS is not following any PD dates announced in Visa Bulletins, but this time for good. Ironically, I also got emails on my AP approval, which is dated a day later than GC approval. Sequence of LUDs is - AP received 11/11 with a soft LUD on 12/10, I-485 approval on 12/11, AP approval on 12/12. Got another set of emails today with similar contents as in emails dated 12/11.
Perhaps a lot is going on to clear old cases. Have hopes, and do something so that your files comes to someone's attention. ....Best to all....
