First of all, sorry to open a new thread for my problem, but didn't find a related thread.
I was tested positive for genetal herpes 6months ago, but after that i didn't have any outbreaks. Now i have to go for medicals for my I485 next week.
Iam very much worried if it will effect my chances of getting GC.
Should i let the civil surgeon know iam positive for herpes and show my medical reports before he does the blood work, or should i wait till he finishes my blood work? I have read that i can apply for a waiver even if im tested positive for herpes, is it true? If so, can any body please tell me what is the procedure? Do i need to do it when we are filing for 485, or is it a separate process?
Please guide me.

I am one of the July 2nd filer, EB2 India, PD is April 2005. There is problem if you filed 485 at NSC but got a receipt# starting with WAC we must address it asap.
I called up NSC with my Receipt that starts with WAC as it was send to CSC by NSC that processed the application send me the first notice with RD 07/02/2007. I again got the second I-485 transfer notice in September with RD 09/26/2007 saying my case has been transferred back to NSC office as they have jurisdiction over it. The IO says as my application receipt# starts with WAC it will processed by the CSC processing dates that is dead at May 2006 rather than the NSC processing dates that is at 10th August 2007 making my 485 eligible for processing.
If we do not solve this problem we could be lingering in CSC for years.
If there has been cases where someone had I-485 Receipt# starting with WAC but got processed by NSC processing dates as it was filed there please come forward.
Looks like there has been some TSC approvals for EAC receipts but no news on NSC, anybody please post here.

Please refer to the sec. 8 CFR 214.2 h(11). As per USCIS regulations, the employer is required to notify that the employment relationship has been terminated so that the petition is canceled.

what's the reason of RFE, if you are currently working for the same employer?
I don't know how you can get approval by going through company B, which you can not get with Company A.
Please give more information and certainly someone can help you quickly

Is this something common?. I did not get any emails after that. Following is the relevant part of the email....
"Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Card production ordered.
On April 3, 2008, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register."
What else do you want Bro. Give 30 days time to USCIS to send your card. we, most of us, would me more satisfied just to see the magical words - Current Status: Card production ordered in our case status.
Regarding holding card in physically, have to wait some time. Which should not be more taxing than waiting to see the magical words.

The 800K pending 485s include people who have filed multiple 485s.
Cases like
1) Spouses filing thier own as well as dependant.
2) More then one primary filing.
So i guess there are about 100K duplicate and invalid applications.
In a way our community contributes to our own downfall...
Processing will also be delayed by people filing unnecessary Service requests for FP & AP etc., even when there is no use in near term just to be on par with everyone else.
I think that is not really true - You cannot file more than one I485 as in other stages of immigration process (you can file multiple H1B’s; multiple I140’s etc). Because I485 is for adjustment of status to an individual and is unique for each individual. Yes there will be applications for primary and dependent but each of them take a visa number anyway and they have to be counted.
In the I485 – adjustment of status - an applicant can change the preference category (EB2 vs EB3) by interfiling new I140 approval i.e. by suppling the new I140 approval papers which will update an existing I485 but cannot file a new I485. I would donate 500$ if I get the GC before 2012. If not I would reduce it by 50$ a year there after.
I understand your frustration, but its like holding IV responsible for getting your GC - that does not seem right.
Contributing now is important; and after getting gc's, its equally important to support the people who are still stuck in the process.

Hi Friends.
I got the pink slip 3 weeks back with one month severance. So my target was to secure the job in one month to avoid loss of pay. Finally secured the job with 3 offers from 3 top companies.
Some tips if it may be helpful to others , that I recently expereinced
1. Read your resume thoroughly and see if there are anything that you can improve and make the resume with the core skills, do not make the resume of mix of different profiles, like dba, architect, project manager, make them all seperate.
2. Try to make the submission to the direct employer or recruiter on top of the chain. You can do that finding contacts on linked in.
3. Do not compromise a lot, this makes these recruiters to think that you are vulnerable for any exploitation, (happened with me, I kicked there butt after getting selected and telling them on why did I do that)
