Hi,
I've been reading about iv.org on Rajeev Khanna's immigrationportal.com since last few days. I just enrolled and contributed a little something thru Paypal. I am however curious about Rajeev Khanna and his office's role in this new org. Leaving aside costmetic details - the forum is more than similar to the forum on immigrationportal. Please excuse my ignorance here - both websites could be using something readily available, but I would like to know if both sites have common administrators.
Thanks

i just read on another forum, that about 70,000 visa's come up for the new fiscal year which starts 1st october, so it might take a couple of months to see any movement, but it will happen, as they have got to wait and see and get a better feel for how many filers there were for july/augest, as they havent processed them all yet, then we will see something happen. so lets wait and see what the Nov bullitin says, and if the rally had any kind of effect.

Thanks Pappu for posting it. I have been barred from creating threads ;-))
I have now PDFs (the articles in this coverage need subscription) for all of them. If someone educates me how to archive them on IV, I can do put them up. I got the pdfs via my institutional subscription. The articles are resourceful, and come with references for further research. The author, Woolridge, seems to be a good person to talk to. If someone wants the articles, email your personal email id and I will send pdfs later this evening.

I have posted the article from the economist.
It is a great resource for anyone doing research or writing article on immigration.

As you can see from the Science article how difficult it will be to pass anything in the lameduck session. IV cannot do it alone without the help of all its members. Pls send mails to the editors of these magazines highlighting our issues and mentioning IV.
Pls post a confirmation on this thread that you have emailed the editor so that we know how many people sent emails. We need more participation from our members on such tasks in order to highlight our issues in the media. We find a lot of people posting messages about what we ought to be doing on the forum but only a handful actually do when we urge members to do. Any efforts to get attention from media to highlight our isues will be highly appreciated.

here's my explanation why i think retrogression will get worse -
1) USCIS still has not entered all the july and aug. filers. USCIS will have a good idea by Oct or Nov. how many applications are in the pipeline, how many they can approve and what the PD cut off date needs to be?
2) with the number of applications that were filed this it is obvious that ROW will see retrogression in both EB2 and EB3 categories.
And, would you mind explaining why would ROW get affected? If they were current all along, all the ROW candidates must have already filed, even before july fiasco, right? So, just exactly how do they get affected?
Sorry for the outburst, but I sometimes get tired of people just throwing out speculations  as if they are stating facts. So, back up your statement with logic.

my labor has to be pending 365 days or have an 140 approved to extend. so if pp goes away for 140 then my only option to stay in status is EAD. Also I am not in IT so patni, tcs etc...is out of question.

Godbless,
Please check you investment account balance and find out how much actual money goes to your account, there are hefty financial charges for whole life, Prudential charged me $62 as finance charge and $16 as insurance cost out of $116 monthly premium rest $42 went investment account.
why would any one pay 70% as a financial charge?, I canceled policy....
Check your account and let me know?
Thx

Buddy,
everyone loves their money....but think if nothing will change how much of your loved money you will spend every year to renew EAD and AP...just do the calculations and you will think that it is worth to part some of our loved money..
No offense Nik..but dude my company actually pays for it..so no loss..in renewing EAD..but unfortunatly my EAD is not yet approved..so I am not yet there.....SAD

The suggestion for multiple simultaneous rallies didnt get pushed before DC rally as it would have possibly diluted DC rally attendance. But It looks like multiple simultaneous rallies will have an huge impact since
-people can travel to their nearest location so more attendance
-simultaneous local media coverage + more national media coverage
-sum of parts greater than the total.
Possible locations -
West Coast - Bay area & Seattle
Midwest - Chicago?
Southwest - Dallas, Austin or Houston
Northeast - NY?
Southeast - Atlanta?

Here is my recent experience,
in the month of april my wife and I had received RFEs for 325 and birth certificate, we submitted the evidence and there was soft LUDs for almost a week, case status said a decision will be made in 60 days. I t is more than 90 days, so I called up the customer service (I very well know that they can't issue GC as the priority date is not current) I spoke to her as a layman and filed for a service request. Here is the email that I got:
Dear Mr. XXX:

This is def not right...I checked out the 'News' section (see link below) on the website which published the bulletin...how come they have published only the Sept bulletin and NOT any other month's bulletin....
Pederson Immigration Law Group, P.C. - News (http://www.usvisainfo.com/content/category/1/1/31/)
I have same observations:mad: The funny part is at the bottom the date lists Aug 09 2010 i.e. yesterday. We know that yesterday there wasnt ANY bulletin whatsoever...
I initially thought its authentic but now I think it may be a cheap publicity stunt :(
I really really pray that posting is a figment of his imagination...I pray...

Until this point of time, no one knows how USCIS or state is calculating the figures. So, lets wait and see the lottery results. Thats the only way to get the green card faster :)
Why they have a separate *green card lottery* category, I'll never know.... aren't we all in it?
