The *only* thing I care about is whether or not it's all fully functional on Snow Leopard....from what I've seen of Lion so far, do not want :-(

You know when you start up your mac for the first time the music plays as welcome written in all those different languages goes by? Well does anyone know what song is playing during that? I really like the song and I was hoping someone maybe knows.

So what are the notifications all about? They're not push so what are they? I set one earlier but that person hasn't tweeted since.
That's what I'm trying to figure out too.
It doesn't true "psuh notifications" as I wasn't given the setup alert from te phone that the iPhone OS provides.
I set one up on a tweeter I follow (the iphone blog) and within minutes they happen to send out a tweet but I got nothing. So I'm not sure......

Hi,
I will be watching the live coverage of Macworld, but there are time differences, so what time should I log on to see the coverage?
Thanks. :)

This question is for those with new-ish (Intel) laptops who check the option to convert high bitrate files to 128-kbps AAC before copying to the Shuffle:
Does it take long to convert the files? I have a 1GHz TiBook, and it is taking forever to get those files on there with the option checked...You should only use that option to convert AIFF CD Audio files NOT mp3 files. Your quality will go in the toilet if you try to convert mp3 directly to AAC at any bit rate. Plus it does take a long time to make that crappy conversion.

No and no, as they even have different count (200 vs 204).

Correct. This was leaked the day after Leopard Preview was released. Sheesh.
Yes, but now we have (had) videos. Did anyone save them?

666sheep is right.. RAM is the main cause of KP's. As he said take one out and try booting up. Keep taking one out at a time till you have just 1 left. Once the KP's stop you will know the stick you just took out is the culprit.
.. and dont forget to try each stick individually once your down to 1 stick if it keeps kernel panicking - unlikely but if your unlucky its likely to be the very last stick you get too thats faulty - ( probably stating the obvious, but I thought Id add it for completeness of your correct advice zen - :) )

So yeah... they need the money to expand while remaining profitable.
The question is, who is willing to pay it?
My guess is most will and AT&T knows it.
If you can afford Apple products...
(Apple, AT&T, and Verizon are well aware of this...)

ok, still waiting on graphics card. Wiring is neater now.
But I'm still having an issue with running video feeds from the internet. The MDD is ethernet wired rather than airport. Its really choppy with maybe 2 or 3 frames per second but perfect sound.
Could this be the video card? I've got 2Gb of ram now so that sorts that end of things. Will the ATi 9700 128mb DDR solve the issue?
What interface/app are you using to watch video and from what streaming source?
From what you explain I would guess you are running h.264 streams that may be beyond your Macs capability. My single 1.8 7448 G4 would easily outperform your dual 867 and I can't go above 480p h.264.
For the best video playback experience on your hardware I would restrict it to 480p and lower h.264 and DivX/XviD up to 720p. It's also all about the player you use. On PowerPC chips Quicktime generally uses up to double the CPU vs. VLC or Mplayer.
Give me specifics about codec and apps used and I can help you solve this issue no matter what video card you have.

The real problem here is that not enough women are standing in front of their mirrors after dressing and asking themselves "if I get raped wearing this, will I be blamed?"

The whole thing is just silly and a time-waster.
What was the point anyway? The seller will not get the money and most likely be suspended/banned.

Apple should just roll their own.
They have the power, the talent, the size, and certainly the scale, to go their own way with an excellent chance of success.
The more things they do in-house, the better. It'll only enhance the Apple ecosystem and grow it.
Is this always the best approach? Unless Apple intends to invent something beyond the wheel, why just invent the wheel all over again? The duplication of effort doesnt sound very cost effective. And for good or ill, we do operate in a Neo-Liberal economy where its most cost effective to source services and products from others. All the same I can understand the Google thing, but I dont think the articles distance itself from Google language is the best choice of words. Reduce dependency on Google would be more accurate. Anyway, I would have to think that Apples plan is to move beyond the wheel. I wonder what that will look like?

Buy the PTLE 9 crossgrade for $249USD all you need is the 002 serial number & yes the 002 does support PT9/Snow Leopard.

Here's my current set-up. I'm looking for a good xmas Mail icon and maybe one for Safari and FF. I know what I'd like, but I'm not a Photoshop guy at all. Also, the Mail icon looks like it's sitting on the dock in an odd manner. Kind of bugging me, but I can't find a different, Christmas-y one.
I love your desktop! Any chance you could give me a link for the icons you have (dock and the hard-drive icon which is awesome)?
Thanks!
Edit:
The wallpaper is great too lol :D
