It is EB3row who deserve a good grudge with EB2India/China, regarding spill-over changes.

I am very happy with the customer services of New York Indian Consulate. All our passport renewals (4 during last 3 years) happened in a timely fashion and that too thru post without any personal visit. Whenever I e-mailed them with a question, I received answers promptly. I called them to know about status and received precise replies.
I think Meera Shankar needs to be fired. Its bloody 2010 and this is the kind of customer service the indian consulates provide - they dont pick up calls - it takes them a month to issue new passports - Always feel ashamed to be an indian any time I have to deal with these useless consulates.
The Houston consulate does not even have their address properly listed on their website.

So what is the correct address ?? Is it 1990 Post Oak Blvd or 3 Post Oak Central ?? Bunch of freaking idiots is what we have in all these US consulates.

As long as quick money can be invested into wise investments, it can be safe. But do remember, to build anything from scratch is a pain, but to manage and service it is easy. All the easy money, if invested in long term growth will be very benefitial to humanity

I think calling your university presidents and asking them to show their support for these bills would also be a very good idea.
This bill will encourage pursuit of higher education in US by foreign students in a significant way.
Right now for all bills that Zoe proposed there are max 19 co sponser for this last bill. DID you check for STRIVE ACT 2007 which had 78 co-sponsers still could not make it to floor.
We need to call these lawmakers and educated them on these bills.
Chances are less but our investment is not that big. Few minutes in a day to call or write.

I came in US on 06/03/2001. When I came I was told, no project for me right now and I have to wait. I waited till 09/11/2001 WITHOUT pay.

BTW, can you call and ask if you case is preadjudicated. In our case my #@$@ lawyer refuses call USCIS or allow us to initiate an SR (one of the reasons why we had no idea that we were stuck in namecheck)

We cannot expect any movement because we have ~25k EB3's ready for approval with only 3-4k visas. Eb2's (I)could be in a slightly better situation by July '10 because of spillover from unused EB1's and EB2's. I am guessing that 12-15k EB 2's will benefit. The only sliver lining is that ROW's who had visa's available but were stuck due to processing delays will be relieved from the pain.
As per this everyone who got pre-adjudicated would be receiving their GC in FY2010. But, there are people from EB3I with PD as late as 2007 who got RFEs recently and got their cases pre-adjudicated( I am one of them even though my PD is March 2003 and when I called up NSC, they said my case was pre-adjudicated and waiting for a Visa number ).
With EB3I staying at 1 Nov 2001 when the new FY2010 quota starts in October doesnt match to what Ron Gotcher says.
Anyone have any opinion?

Why is everyone blaming just the Chinese University for trying to circumvent the immigration system? It says 95% of the students were from Andhra Pradesh. The adv of 485 route compare to CP is EAD/AP/AC21. In CP, the applicant is getting immigrant visa in a foreign post/consulate. How can USCIS give EAD/AP for a person who is staying outside of US to grant EAD/AP?. There is no technical ground for this request. If you/IV want to lobby, lobby for EAD/AP for the guys whose 140 was approved and staying in US legally on a non-immigrant visa. This may be possible thro, USCIS regulation w/o law change.
Though, law does not force any one to chose only 485 route, while you anyone already in US. Very very few guys will opt for CP while in US due to lot of hurdles in CP. Forget about retrogression, EAD, AP. Opting CP, cost you to fly to home country to get immigrant visa. There is no gurentee that US consulate will give you a immigrant visa based on approved 140 in CP process. That is always risk of denial at interview. It is something similar like, H1B approval by USCIS does not guartee the H1B visa at consulate.

I have a sister that lives in Beaconsfiels (on the island of Montreal) - so I know what I am talking about ... been there many times.
Depends - do you speak French. If yes, Montreal is outstanding. If not, then TO (said "T" then "O" (not zero)) (or Toronto), is more likely desireable to immigrants. It is extremely multicultural, economically not dependant on a "referendum" (French trying to separate sending the economy for a spin).
Housing in TO is somewhat expensive - remember, that it is the 4th largest city in North America. Look also at Alberta (Edmonton & Calgary), and British Columbia - again housing is very expensive here. May wish to also consider looking at Halifax in Nova Scotia, but most likely will not be your choice. A city like London or Kitchener, Ontario is great - just need the skill set to get a job there.
Conclusion - Ontario is most likely your best bet (and the weather is better than Monteal by a long shot)
