Thanks, just saw it.
Kind of surprised it's such a late thing... doesn't Apple tend to do events at 10 AM, not 10 PM? (I guess it's still only 7 PM on their coast... still, isn't it time to go home by now for their employees?)

All this messiness is why when I go Intel, I'll be looking at running the one Windows application I need to run--FrameMaker--under WINE/Codeweavers. No Windows code is necessary and thus no problem with licenses, legalities or paying Microsoft up to $300.
And since WINE/Codeweavers isn't Windows, it merely lets Windows applications run under OS X, it isn't troubled by the 200,000 Windows viruses, trojans etc. lurking out there.
Don't forget, Windows on your Mac means Windows viruses on your Mac.

How did they find out that she's a transgender? It's not like women's restrooms have urinals...
Sometimes it's pretty easy to spot trans people. It can be difficult to convincingly look like the opposite sex.

There is a lot of Apple Dick riding going on.
Here? Never.
But this does my school did a survey online and we found as March 20 the Ratios look like this- Blackberry 17%, iOS 40, Android 35%, other ties in the rest. Highest selling phone: iPhone 4, iPhone 3gs, Lg Optimus 1 series of phones.
Online surveys are worth the paper they are written on. The best data suggest that iPhone marketshare in the US is stagnant and Android based handsets are booming

What?
Seriously dude, you're in the wrong thread.
This isn't the "What Is Your Wish?" or "Random Thought For The Day" thread.
People are talking about tax returns and yes I spent about everything I made on my computer, I am a full time college student. And half the posts in this thread are about who started it and why they started it so early...

I wonder if he means calander year 07 or FY 07. If it's FY 07 we could see some of those products in the next three months :)

This is why Android phones are creeping up on iOS...they are offering more features and constant innovation in the hardware. iPhone users (and I used to be one) only enjoy hardware innovation once a year.
Maybe we will see an LTE iPhone in 2012, maybe not but I can say with all the certainty in the world that Android will have kick ass dual core LTE phones with large screens and probably something retina like in resolution by then. I wouldn't be surprised to see 12 MP cameras, 2-3 MP front cameras all running Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Where? Not is Oz. the HTC Desire is the last android that actually seemed to be worth buying. The desire HD is okay, but not that good. (plus it doesn't come on the Telstra's stupid NextG network.)
Most android phones seem to get the reviews: could do better. As far as I can tell, virtually all are regarded at best as just sub-par to the iPhone 4, except the Desire which is even older.
It pains me as I'd prefer a OSS base over proprietary, and both the HTC Desire & iphone4 seem to be reaching the end of their cycle. Then there is the reluctance of networks to upgrade the software, and the strange lack of syncing with anything other than official supported systems. Possible, but just too hard with plenty of caveats.

If I wanted a physical calendar and all that entails - torn off pages etc. I'd buy one, but I'm working on a computer. First impressions are that this is naff. It reminds me of the overblown animations when arrange by name is selected and I rename a file on the desktop. It's all a bit too cutesy and look at me. Turd brown leather is not my idea of stylish but YMMV. Please may there be an option to switch it off for those of us easily offended by gratuitous eye-candy.

No chance for samsung. Their products are obviously copies. The icons even are crappy...
Don't kid yourself, Apples just doing what Apple does best, whine and cry. Point fingers and sue. Then con the gullible into buying anything with an Apple logo.
Apple is the worlds best marketing company. The only question is how long before it ends. History proves nothing stays on top forever.

I think AT&T is getting tired of dropped calls on it's frequency band...it wants to start dropping them on T-Mobile's as well.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL....
Does this also mean that T-Mobile users are stuck with only the white one?
I say get one with the lower pricing before the AT&T deal goes through - so AT&T has to honor your 2 year T-Mobile contract.
I have a nicely priced old voice plan and would like to add the $10/month 250MB data plan... ;)
BTW - is this just an unlocked iPhone 4 that someone put on T-Mobile and is passing around this rumor? :D

Seriously, why not an Imac with touch-screen right now? Will we need to wait for the next iMac update to see this technology implemented?
Apple is surely working on it:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/apple/7961480/Apple-files-iMac-touch-patent.html
And, besides that, OS X Lion will be 100% focused on touch technology... and were not talking about an Ipad OS...

It would be a fixed 24 time. Probably around the evening of EST.

ugh. i always laugh at anyone who ends their 'predictions' with "you heard it here first", 'cause they nearly always end up being the most inaccurate.
Travis's claim isnt new or "heard it hear first though". It's been gossiped about on this site for weeks.

And, let's not forget that Apple tries to appease DRM owners.
So, you most likely couldn't play anything you don't own outright on such a TV.
I don't understand this comment.

From the screenshots alone, it looks like a Cocoa app, which pretty much guarantees it'll be faster because it won't have the extra Qt bloated code in it ;)
Right, and Cocoa isn't the slightest bit bloated? (can you say runtime messaging and binding overhead?)
Regardless of the relative difference in overhead, I'd expect it to be negligible in both cases. This is just the gui that sits around the virtual machine, a nice window dressing to make it accessible to the user. It should only be exercised when you're doing stuff like editing configurations or attaching devices. The real meat of either VMware or Parallels should have nothing to do with what gui toolkit they use to display the window.
It's exciting to see this finally moving along. I really think virtualization will play a much larger role in everyday computing in the future. Forget backwards compatibility nightmares, just virtualize it. I'm already hogging way too much disk space on my Macbook with a few Parallels VMs that I use on a regular basis. Whenever Apple releases an affordable desktop Mac that can take more than 4 GB of memory, I might check out VMware at that time and see if it's any better.
